Dr. Abraham believes it is the physician's responsibility to:
- Make a proper diagnosis before suggesting any treatment
- Utilize non-invasive treatments before more invasive alternatives like surgery. Non-invasive treatments like prolotherapy have the advantage of minimal discomfort and recovery time.
- Enhance healing by combining prolotherapy treatment with adequate nutrition and exercise as tolerated
- Guide the patient in decision making-this is a partnership.
- Be attentive to patients' ideas and concerns regarding treatment and recovery.
- Educate the patient about the duration of the treatment process which may take a month, months, or up to a year or more depending on the severity of problems.
- Ensure that patients are aware of the risks of treatment and possess realistic expectations concerning successful healing and recovery.
